In my Art class, we are working on making pots. My Art teacher is Ms. Baker. So far we have made the bottoms. Next class we are going to make the tops. We are making them out of clay. Your hands get really dirty. I chose to write about this, because I really like Art class. Also pots seem like fun things to make. On the top or the bottom of the pot we are going to put an animal or something like that on them. I am going to put a horse on mine. I think this is important because I think making pots is really fun so far. I like making pots because I like to be able to use the clay and it gets my hands messy. People say if you’re having fun, you’re getting messy.
I’m going to stop talking about making pots, and start talking about some other things my class has done in Art class. We painted self portraits, sunflower scenes, and did some weaving. For the self portraits, Ms. Baker (our Art teacher) helped us learn how to draw mouths, noses, and eyes. It took about four weeks to paint our portraits. On to the flower paintings. We did a sketch of what we were going to paint. Then we drew and painted our flowers. It took probably about three weeks to do the whole thing. Our weaving… well not a lot of people have finished yet. But when we were still making them, I thought that it was really fun. I thought it was fun because you got to choose the colors and you could make up your own designs.

I liked making the clay pots, self-portraits, and weaving. I thought that the clay pots were fun because you get to choose which animal you wanted for the cover. I chose a snake for my cover. It was also fun because you could get your hands dirty and get water on them after (Which I love!!)! It is cool that we can make clay pots in Art! I liked the self-portraits because you put a lot of time and effort into it! Carlyevan, I think it took more than 4 weeks. Probably around 8 weeks. This was my first opportunity to make a self-portrait with paint. I thought that weaving was cool because it was my first opportunity to weave and I thought that this would be fun!!!!

What a great entry! You really share your individual thoughts and you have many specific details. I’m glad to find out what you are doing in Art. What do you think about trying something like carlyevan did?
I love every single thing about Art! Its my favorite Thing out of all related arts! Its just so much fun tho paint whatever you want and get messy! There’s so many differnt kinds of art!
